We are looking for an approachable, organised and proactive People & Operations Manager to recruit and develop the best of the best, and to help us to keep the agency running like clockwork.

MATTA is an independent, forward-thinking, digital-first creative agency for sport. Our campaigns have won multiple awards, and we have been Agency of the Year several times over.

We build digital and social strategies, design and position brands, hatch big ideas, create advertising campaigns, produce content, and we have a design, video, and edit studio in-house. We’re based in London, but the majority of the work we do is global.  Our clients are iconic rightsholders, clubs and brands, including ATP Tour, ICC, The FA, R&A, PWR, England Rugby, Chelsea Women, Tottenham Hotspur, EA7, Clinique, to name a few.

We couldn’t do this without our exceptional people, and we are looking for a People & Operations Manager to scout out the best people in our industry, and then help them to thrive once they’re here, while keeping our day-to-day operations running like clockwork.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead permanent recruitment end-to-end, across the agency

  • Ensure we have a a healthy bank of freelancers across all studio disciplines

  • Work alongside finance and leadership on resource planning 

  • Support career development, training, and progression opportunities

  • Help to maintain an inclusive and engaging environment where people feel excited to come to work and proud of what they do

  • Own our onboarding - make our new joiners feel welcome, and ensure they get up to speed quickly

  • Be a trusted partner for managers and team members, offering advice and support

  • Manage the nuts and bolts of HR administration, performance management, contracts, HR systems, compliance and benefits

  • Help us to continuously refine the systems and processes that keep the agency running smoothly

  • Work with our Operations Director in ensuring that our technology and mobile devices are working well

  • Support the team with sustainability, DEI and L&D initiatives

  • Ensure that our office environment is pleasant and runs smoothly

Job requirements

Essential strengths and experience:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in people management and operations gained in a creative or agency environment

  • Approachable, empathetic, and great at building relationships 

  • Highly organised and sharp on detail, but not afraid to think big picture

  • Passionate about talent, culture and helping others to shine and grow

  • Tech-savvy, and confident with HRIS, ATP and other systems

  • Strong initiative and proactivity

  • A team player through and through
