Junior Artworker - 3 month fixed term contract

Job description

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated Junior Artworker to join our Creative Team.  They will mainly work for one of our key clients - a major governing body in the world of rugby - on the efficient, detailed production of high volume design assets in the lead-up to the end of season.  Although this is initially a fixed term contract, there is the possibility of a permanent role with MATTA if the fit is good.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Adaptation and artworking of pre-existing design assets

  • Ensure files and colour modes are set up correctly for print and digital 

  • Ensure production of artwork is completed to the highest standards of design principles, brand consistency, technical accuracy and efficiency

  • Adhere to our internal quality control procedures, and to our Studio’s systems, processes and storage structure

  • Work in a manner suitable for the supply of open, editable design files

  • Interrogate briefs and input into the project execution methodology, giving estimates of production time

Job requirements

  • A minimum of two years of creative artworking experience acquired either within an agency or in-house team

  • Technical confidence, and the ability to quickly pick up new software and platforms

  • A portfolio that demonstrates a detailed, meticulous design process as well as creative flare 

  • Applied knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite production software

  • Strong eye for design - knowledge and experience in typography, colour and composition

  • Ability to understand and interpret design guidelines in artwork execution

  • Good understanding of artwork specification requirements for all printed and static digital mediums

  • An exceptional eye for detail and meticulously high-quality standards

  • Confident communication and relationship building skills

  • Strong initiative and proactivity

  • A willingness to learn and share knowledge

  • A team player through and through

  • A great work ethic and a can-do attitude

  • Self-driven, with the ability to thrive while working in a fast paced, high energy environment with daily deadlines

Additionally, although not essential, if you have a love of sport and some experience in sport marketing and design, this would put you higher up the list.
