Studio Manager

Job description

We are growing rapidly and looking for a confident and supremely capable Studio Manager to manage the flow of traffic through our studio, and to ensure all our systems are running efficiently.

 

Your key responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the Studio and Operations Team in managing operational functions across the agency including resourcing, forecasting, and assessing and improving organisational processes;

  • Develop and manage an appropriate schedule of work and allocate jobs based on an understanding of priorities and timelines, combined with knowledge of the skill sets and capacities within the team.;

  • Run daily Traffic meetings to ensure that all work is delegated correctly and priorities are clearly communicated to the wider agency;

  • Work with Brand & Strategy and Finance leads to understand the potential pipeline of work, and to understand when and where any pressure points will be on the agency;

  • Hire and manage freelancers when extra capacity, or a specialist skill set, is needed;

  • Facilitate all projects from briefing to delivery by fostering collaboration of teams and by establishing processes to maximise efficiency of workflow through the agency;

  • Work closely with Brand & Strategy and Production to ensure that projects are accurately scoped and phased, and the timings are achievable;

  • Champion, police and oversee the adoption of all MATTA systems, software and processes;

  • Create an environment that allows all employees to work to the best of their ability, from both an IT and culture point of view, and work with our external partners where necessary;

  • Manage the relationships with external partners such as our HR Consultant, our outsourced IT support, building management, and cleaning staff;

  • Manage the onboarding of new joiners, ensuring that they are familiar with agency processes and signed up to all our systems;

  • Lead our Culture Club in identifying and implementing initiatives designed to keep our team happy and motivated.

Requirements

  • A proven background in operations and resource management within a creative agency environment;

  • A natural problem solver; able to make decisions quickly in high pressure situations;

  • Excellent stakeholder management - comfortable with collaborating with, as well as challenging, multiple internal clients;

  • Strong analytical skill set - the ability to interpret briefs, to understand demands, to translate those into a working schedule and resource plan, and to identify/make adjustments as necessary;

  • Understanding of a project life-cycle within a creative agency environment;

  • Highly tech-savvy, and confident in identifying and facilitating technology solutions for creative teams;

  • Strong familiarity with GSuite, particularly GSheets;

  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and design processes;

  • Excellent multitasker - highly organised with exceptional attention to detail;

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills;

  • Strong initiative and proactivity;

  • Organised with the ability to work to deadlines;

  • A willingness to learn and share knowledge;

  • A team player through and through, and a natural relationship builder;

  • A great work ethic and a can-do attitude;

  • The ability to thrive while working in a fast paced, high energy environment with daily deadlines.
